Cross Roller Bearing ds and Dh Shoulder Dimension Guide
A practical guide to checking shaft and housing shoulder dimensions against the bearing drawing before machining or replacement selection.
What ds and Dh describe
These dimensions identify the available supporting shoulder limits on the shaft and housing side. Their meaning and limit direction must be read from the applicable series drawing.
Check before machining
Compare the bearing model drawing with the shaft and housing drawing before parts are made. Check that the shoulder does not touch seals, cages, chamfers or rolling elements.
Account for chamfers and mounting parts
A nominal diameter match is not sufficient when chamfers, retaining plates, bolts or spacers occupy the support area. Review the full cross-section and fastening arrangement.
Use the original drawing for final release
Web dimensions support an initial check, but final machining and replacement approval should use the original bearing drawing and the actual assembly tolerance stack.
